Description
Choose a ratcheting or locking mechanism model, especially if you crimp often — ensures full, consistent compression. Make sure it supports the categories you’ll use — Cat6 / Cat6A require more robust plugs and possibly thicker cables. Check for pass-through support (if you use pass-through plugs) — some crimpers are specially designed for them. Prefer hardened steel dies / jaws — avoids deformation over time. Ergonomics matter — padded / rubber grips reduce fatigue if crimping many cables. Spare blades / replacement parts — good tools allow blade replacement. Use the proper sequence: strip cable, align conductors, insert plug, then crimp. Don’t skip the cutter/stripper.
