Description
An up-down converter (UDC) is a device that can either convert a signal to a higher frequency (up-conversion) or to a lower frequency (down-conversion), depending on the application's requirement. These converters are commonly found in communication systems, particularly in the transmit and receive paths of radio frequency (RF) and microwave systems. They are used to translate signals between different frequency bands, such as from baseband to an intermediate frequency (IF) or RF, or vice versa.
