Description
A 5 dB coupling factor means the coupled port receives about 1/ (10^(5/10)) ≈ 1/3.16 ≈ 0.316 of the input power (i.e., about 31.6%) in ideal case. Some models may indicate “4.8 dB” for “5 dB nominal”. Powertec Information Portal +1 The main (through) port will have slightly higher insertion loss than an ideal device because of the coupling and internal losses; that is captured in the insertion loss spec.
