Shorter horns at low end (0.4 GHz) mean lower gain at lower frequencies, or poorer beam control (i.e. wider beamwidth). A horn’s aperture dimension is roughly proportional to wavelength: λ at 0.4 GHz ≈ 75 cm, so you need sizable opening or accept lower performance. Radome / weather proofing adds thickness & weight. Using lighter materials like thin aluminum can reduce weight but may affect mechanical stability / precision.
